I grew up in the New Forest in England where my family owned very good hotels known for their food. I started in the kitchen at a young age and when i got to my early twenties i worked at my first michelin star restaurant as a pastry chef for a chef called ALex Aitken at Le Poussin. I stayed with Alex for a few years and worked for him as his chef at Parkhill Hotel too.
In December 2000 i came to Barbados to work for a chef called Larry Rogers. I worked at his two establishments Olives and La Terra.In 2003 Larry sold Olives and i was given the chance to run my own kitchen with the new owner.
Recently i am the proud owner of my own two businesses. Scotts Catering and Bento Box. At Scotts Catering we cater to weddings, cocktail parties and dinners. I love this company as i get to have fun with food, i suppose let of my leash…. We designed Bento Box as a means to give the island fresh sushi daily at a god price, as our logo goes “sushi for the people”.
